In the early 1990s Stanford-educated engineer
Gary Craig developed a simple and effective process of tapping
on meridian points combined with affirmation statements to
eliminate negative energy and beliefs held in the body’s energy
system. He called this method emotional freedom technique,
or EFT.
Gary now dedicates himself to spreading the word by making
EFT accessible to everyone through his seminars and teaching
videos.
So what is
EFT?
EFT is based on this theory or foundation statement:
“all negative emotions are caused by a disruption in
the body’s energy system.”
In addition to having a physical body, which is fuelled by
food, we also run on this intricate energy system which is
fuelled by electrical impulses that flow through the body
and brain. This energy system holds the key to many of the
disturbances we experience in our daily lives. The electromagnetic
energy that flows through the body and regulates our health
is only recently becoming recognised in the West, where modern
medicine has concentrated on the physical and chemical nature
of the body.
EFT could be described as psychological acupuncture, as it
uses the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture
to treat physical and emotional ailments, but without the
invasiveness of needles.
Instead, simple tapping with the fingertips inputs kinetic
energy onto specific meridians on the body, while tuned into
a specific problem – whether it is a traumatic event,
an addiction, pain or anxiety. The creative use of statements
enables the individual to tune into the issue and remain focused
on the problem during the treatment. This is vital to the
success of the therapy.
This combination of tapping the energy meridians and voicing
the statements works to clear the ‘energy disruption’
or ‘emotional block’ from your body’s energy
system, thus restoring your mind and body’s balance,
which is essential for optimal health and the healing of physical
ailments.
EFT is equally effective on the phone
I currently work with many clients using this
method. It is very convenient for people with busy lifestyles,
who struggle to find the time to look after themselves and
deal with the issues that are part of our daily existence,
and ensures complete privacy. Some people find it easier to
talk on the phone as opposed to face-to-face and in these
cases can achieve results more quickly.
EFT also can be used to complement and enhance skills such
as hypnotherapy, psychology, NLP and life coaching.
